The NFL Trade Deadline will fall on Tuesday, October 14th this year. While trades rarely happen at the NFL Trade Deadline, there are some players that would like to be in different situations and contenders that need to find that missing piece. In the NFL, trading can be very common depending on the stats of the team. For instance, Albert Hansworth was traded from the TITANS to the REDSKINS for a 4 year span.
Dallas traded cornerback Anthony Henry to Detroit, where Kitna appeared in four games last season before going on injured reserve with a back injury. Kitna, 36, played college ball at Central Washington and was a Seahawk from 1997 to 2000. He is scheduled to make $1.95 million this season.

Of all the sports I like football the best. It is a very fun game. You can play it with your friends all year. You do a lot of exercise and you get very close to your friends.
However, other countries call it soccer and play it differently. I like it better. You get to kick the ball with your feet a lot. I don’t know much else about these two sports. I just know that I like them the best.

In each division, there are great players that have different talents. Some of them are great runners, and great catchers. The players learn from experience. Last week Matthew B. in 6th grade went for a catch and the ball went through his hands. Julio in 5th grade caught a interception. It was very embarrassing but it helped the Chargers come back in the game. But they still lost 4-2 because their captain was thrown out of the game. This week players have been practicing because there has been no football this whole week. The science projects are taking up all the space in the gym but we are still learning how to be the best of the best.

Super bowl 43 was a really good game. It was the Pittsburgh Steelers v.s. Arizona Cardinals. It was a really intense game. The game started off with the Steelers scoring a field goal. They had a 3-0 lead. Then the Cardinals came back and scored a touchdown. The score was 7-3. Then the Steelers scored a touchdown. The score was 10-7. Then came the play of the game. The incredible 100 yard interception touchdown pass by James Harrison. The score was 17-7. Then the Steelers made a field goal to make it 20-3. Then the Cardinals started to play the game. They scored 2 touchdowns and the Steelers made a field goal to make the score 23-20 Cardinals with only 2:37 remaining in the fourth quarter. Then the Steelers scored a touchdown to make it 27-23. That was the final score. The Pittsburgh Steelers are Super Bowl 43 champions.

On February 3rd 2009, the New York Rangers are honoring Adam Graves for his 11 years of excellence in the blue and white sweater. Adam Graves had to be the best Ranger on the ice other than Mark Messier and Brian Leech. He was the most dedicated Ranger with a great sense of pride. Blood and stitches wouldn’t even stop him. Tuesday night, when the Rangers honor Graves by raising his No. 9 to the Madison Square Garden rafters, he’ll have a chance to talk to every Ranger fan and teammate he ever touched and tell them exactly how he feels about them and why he is who he is.
Graves will be the fourth member of the Rangers’ 1994 Stanley Cup championship team to have his number retired. His No. 9 will join Mike Richter’s No. 35, Mark Messier’s No. 11 and Brian Leetch’s No. 2.
“I understand how lucky and fortunate I am,” Graves said Monday. “I didn’t realize what goes through your heart and mind leading up to this. This has been a hard time for me as far as feeling very humble. I honestly just feel so privileged.”
Walking through the tunnel meeting and greeting all the people Adam has dealt with throughout his life was a touching moment. Graves received many gifts including a signed guitar by Bruce Springsteen, a picture with #9 and Graves, and a surprise visit from his favorite TV show THE SOPRANOS. The speeches were strong, and Mark Messier of course made crying cool. Adam Graves held it in all night but finally broke open in tears, when his #9 was raised into the Garden Rafters.
Madison Square Garden was packed at 20,000 people who were all cheering “Adam! Adam!” and chanting the “Dennis Potvin” chant. The best chant of them all yesterday was Mark Messier saying “Tonight’s not about honoring Adam’s stats; tonights about honoring a man and a champion.”
Tuesday night was a celebration of a superb man who happened to be an amazing Ranger. It was for a man whose time and efforts on and off the ice could not be said in words. Not only was Mark Messier, Brian Leetch and Mike Richter were on hand, other important members of that ’94 championship team were present. Jeff Beukeboom walked to center ice to the traditional sounds of “Booook!” Stephane Matteau received a rousing ovation with his heroic goal in double OT in Game 7 of the ’94 Conference Finals. Sergei Nemchinov and Glenn Healy also got a big ovation as well.
All in all it was a great night for Adam Graves, his family, the Rangers organization and the great/passionate fans of New York.
LETS GO RANGERS!

MANHATTAN- In my last article, I mentioned the fact that Lebron James is going to the New Jersey Nets/Brooklyn Nets. I am now having second thoughts about the entire situation. Not only am I thinking about the Nets, but I am also thinking the Knicks are possible suitors. A couple of days ago, the Knicks traded away Zach Randolph and Jamall Crawford. That gave them great cap room, for eventually 2010. Now Lebron isn’t the only big name out there. Steve Nash and Dwane Wade are also out on the market. On Jay-Z’s blog it states “How amazing would that be? I tell people all the time, he’s my friend first. If Cleveland is building a championship team around him then my advice is to stay there. If it’s the Nets who are building a championship team that could be around him then my advice is to come to the Nets.” Then Lebron told the media quoting Madison Square Garden “I’ve dreamed about playing well in this building and it’s overtaken of how I could ever dream about,” James said. “To get a standing ovation in the greatest basketball arena in the world, it was a dream come true for me. It’s one of the best things that ever happened to me.”

On Sunday the Giants clobbered the Arizona Cardinals 34-28, and the Jets had a huge upset victory over the undefeated (no more) Titans 34-13. Both teams are doing great this season and they could meet this season. No not in the preseason but in the Super Bowl of 2009. Who will win? You got me. A couple of days ago the Daily News hosted a Madden 09 Super Bowl of the Jets vs. Giants. The first game the Jets clobbered the Giants 54-10, then in the second game the Giants beat the Jets 24-21. This will be a great Super Bowl if both teams make it. Eli Manning vs. Brett Favre. Last year the Jets were 4-12. This year they are 8-3 going into Sunday’s game vs. the Broncos. The Giants suffered a big lost to the Browns, the only loss this year, but that hasn’t stopped their great defence. Justin Tuck and Antonio Peirce are doing great this year, and they have 32 sacks this year. In the New York Post, they broke down both teams. Each team was pretty much even but the Giants had a slight edge on the Jets in defence. It was like 1 to 1a. This Super Bowl will tear New York City (Manhattan) apart, and sure will bring out the football fan out of all of us.
LETS GO GIANTS!!!!!! and J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets!!

BROOKLYN-A lot of talk over the years was about the Nets moving from New Jersey to Brooklyn. The stadium over at Atlantic Yards is just about starting and should be available to the team in 2 years time. The past few years, the Nets have been in re-building mode. They dumped Jason Kidd- the eye of the Nets franchise, they traded Richard Jefferson who was drafted by the Nets, and a couple of years ago, the Nets traded Kenyon Martin who also was a young star. Now the Nets franchise might make another big move in year’s time. Their cap room has plenty of room now. That big move is LeBron James. I mean can you imagine the crowd that will draw to Atlantic Yards in Brooklyn with James at Forward. It is just unthinkable for all the Nets fans. The Nets Co-President Jay-Z is buds with LeBron James which can persuade him to find a home in Brooklyn NY. Also James is friends with Chris Bosh and Amare Stoudemire. Those two can also come to Brooklyn, if the Nets do make a move for LeBron. Richard Jefferson had a 45 million dollar contract. Now that he is gone, the Nets just have Vince Carter who has a 60.1 million contract. His contract expires in a couple of years which can mean that the Nets could make room to get LeBron James, Amare Stoudemire, and Chris Bosh. In December 2006, the plan was approved to build a stadium/arena in Prospect Heights Brooklyn. The Nets contract in the Meadowlands expires in 2013. But the Nets plan to move during the 2010-2011 season. This can be the biggest NBA deal since the Lakers traded Shaquille O’Neal to the Miami Heat. A few years ago, Lebron stated “I like New York. I have no problem playing there.” He said he liked the Knicks or the Nets. In fact on Tuesday November 18th, 2008, the New Jersey Nets hosted the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs won 106-82, but emotion ran high. The attendance at the IZOD Center was 16,911. That was the largest crowd there this season. Of the 16,911, Jay-Z was in attendance. According to some sources, in Jay-Z’s press conference, he stated “I like Lebron, he is a good player, and I would love him here. I would also put four offers on him.” Lebron also said “Where ever I go, I will give 100%. If a team wants to give up on a player, then it is O.K. So I got to do what is best”
Get ready for another re-building season from our New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets.

Sal is back and better than he was before. He just came back from Virginia this week and he will be starting his football season today. Sal is a good friend of mine and is arguably the best player in the lower grades. I have been talking to others about Sal being back including Matthew B on the Bears. He said that Sal looks pretty good. Sal is not only pretty good but he is the best in the gym for lower grades.
